On Tuesday (May 11) in the conference room of the National Human Rights Commission, in the discussion meeting organized by Bandhu Social Welfare Society on the issue of 'violation of human rights of transgender, hijra and gender diverse population and next steps', the chief guest said. Kamal Uddin Ahmed said these things.
He spoke about the protection laws for these underprivileged communities and also emphasized on working with various organizations to enact protection laws. He suggested setting up a welfare board for these communities in Bangladesh as in India.
Human Rights Report 2022 published by Bandhu Social Welfare Society was presented in the meeting. Secretary of National Human Rights Commission Narayan Chandra Sarkar and Director (Complaints and Investigation) Md. were special guests in the meeting. Ashraful Alam. Executive Director of Bandhu Social Welfare Society Saleh Ahmed, Director of National Human Rights Commission Kazi Arfan Ashiq, Deputy Director M Rabiul Islam and other officials and participants addressed the meeting.
