Background

The 'Bangladesh Human Rights Violation Monitor' is an online blog portal that collects news on human rights violations published in different newspapers in Bangladesh. It operates under the umbrella of the JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF), and it was founded and is operated by the leadership of Shahanur Islam, a dedicated human rights defender, lawyer, and citizen journalist from Bangladesh. He currently resides in France after being awarded the Marianne Initiative for Human Rights Defenders laureate in 2023, a program launched by the President of France in 2021

This portal was initiated with a promise to create awareness within the community about the protection and promotion of human rights while ensuring the respect and realization of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the fundamental provisions of the Constitution of Bangladesh. Since its inauguration, Human Rights Violation Monitor Bangladesh has been devoted to researching, monitoring, and documenting incidents of human rights violations across Bangladesh.
